Handwritten and typewritten correspondence, articles, essays, and miscellaneous items relating to the career of George A. Custer (1839-1876). Many of the materials relate to the Battle of the Little Bighorn (1876). They include studies and accounts by survivors of the battle and by historians and other writers. The materials also document other facets of Custer's career as well as the US Army's operations against the Indians. The items were microfilmed by the Custer Battlefield Historical and Museum Association.
